Oral Hygiene Visits/Scale & Polish

Recent research has shown that people who regularly see the hygienist experience less dental decay and require less dental work in the long term.

Restorative Treatments & Fillings

A dental restoration or dental filling is a dental restorative material used to restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure.

Tooth loss or a cavity is typically caused by decay or an external trauma. At Alkrington Dental we use superior tooth coloured restorative materials only, this provides excellent durability and an aesthetically pleasing smile.

Root Treatments

A root treatment is a dental procedure used to treat an infection at the centre of a tooth (the root canal system) it is also known as endodontics. An infection can occur due to tooth decay, leaky fillings or a trauma to a tooth. Any of these can potentially lead to an abscess.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth can discolour and darken due to age, smoking and eating and drinking highly coloured foods. Teeth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface.

Bridges

A bridge is usually provided to replace either one or more missing teeth and is usually made by constructing a crown for the teeth on either side of the space and anchoring a false crown in-between.

Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available — complete and partial dentures.

Crowns

A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining portion of a prepared tooth: giving it the shape of a natural tooth and strengthening it.

Crowns are ideal restorations for teeth that have been broken, are heavily filled or discoloured. Crowns can be fabricated using a number of different materials which range in technique and price.

Veneers

A veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth either to improve aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface from damage.
